Christmas Update!

There is so much to share.  I have video and lots of pictures.  We went to Grandma Hayes' house on Friday night and had a wonderful diner and played my family's version of the 'greedy' game.  I was very touched to receive a beautiful picture of Christ from my cousin Natalie.  While we were there Justin got to play with cousin Taylor.  They were really cute together, Thanks Lisa for catching the awesome pictures.

Then we were off to Mom's house to celebrate.  Eric opened his new quilt first thing.  I sure hope he likes it.  By this point my little Justin was getting tired and hungry, so we had to stop and feed him in the middle of opening presents.  But when he got back to it he really loved it.  He got some really wonderful gifts from my family: learning barn from Jake and Lisa, sweats and a toy from Uncle Eric, Little People and some other small things from Grandma, and really neat tub toys from Kris and Donalee (he already loves playing with the tub toys, Thanks guys!).

Gotta love the cheeser smile!
    Then Christmas morning!
I video taped just a short five minute clip as we started out our morning (I tried to upload it but after two hours of waiting, I just gave up).  Justin had a blowout through the night, so he is already in his clothes.  We also thought it would be a good idea to feed him his milk before he opened his presents so that he wouldn't be too grouchy.  As the morning progressed he warmed right up to all of his gifts and really loved playing in the paper.  I do think that he was a little overwhelmed by all of the exciting new toys he seemed to want to sit with either Nate or I and see what we had.  I received a food processor, a large rotary mat, new blades for my rotary, and another set of sheets for my bed.  Thanks Nate! It was a wonderful Christmas.  At the end of the day we went to Melissa's house for Desserts.  It was really fun to get to see everybody and more gifts.  Thanks Grandma Thomas for the great hammer and nail set and the new clothes.

I love all these toys with wheels!

Christmas Eve

I am feeling a little bit better today, and so is little Justin.  It seems like we both have a worse cough today, though.  Nate has the day off and Justin and I are so glad!  I made a Cheesecake and dipped pretzels for Grandma Hayes' house tonight.  I love that we get together every year at her house I don't think I would ever see my cousins if it weren't for her, except for Natalie who spends time at my house (which I love).   While taking this picture I was trying to get him to give me his cheesy grin that he is really apt to giving both Nate and I these days, but alas it was not his idea it was mine.  That's how it goes.
In this picture to the right, Justin just really wants to get Uncle Eric's Christmas present.  He saw Nate checking out his presents so Justin thinks that he needs to touch and feel them all too.  Go figure!  We are very excited for Justin's first Christmas.  It will be so much fun to watch him with all of the wrapping paper.  We love him so very much and are so very thankful that he is a part of our family this year.

Vacuuming

As many know, Justin loves the vacuum.  So today I was vacuuming along and I turn around to see him with a giant smile on his face and he is clapping!  It was so dang cute.  We have been walking around the living room today which he loves.  He is also extremely interested in the washing machine.  I think that he likes how the door is right at his height and he could crawl right in if he tried.  He stands directly in front of the door which makes it slightly hard to get anything done.  When he does this he will look up at me with his huge smile, he knows he is in the way and he thinks it is funny.  Silly baby!
`

On the cold front, he did sleep all night last night and so I was able to sleep too.  He is obviously felling much better as he is playing on his own today and once again getting in to everything.  We are both still dealing with lots of boogers, but that is to be expected when you have a cold.

New Years Resolution

Okay...So it has been devastatingly long since I wrote last.  My resolution for the next year is to post at least once a week.  The first 10 months with Justin in our family have been so busy and I know that I will wish I would have written more about what his antics are!  So starting today...Justin is sick as a dog with a runny nose and I would guess he has a sore throat too, cause I do!  Last night he slept a whole of about 4 hours.  He whined a lot with bouts of tears and snot running down his face.  He sneezed on me a few minutes ago leaving at least a tablespoon of boogers on my hand...icky!
Last weekend we were at my Mom's house and he took two steps on his own.  He is on his way to being a great little walker.  At home he is in to everything and thinks that heat vents were made for him to put his toys down.  I am also working on some writing...I think it may begin, "Sunbeams danced delightfully on the dew dropped spring leaves."  We will see.  Okay well, time to change another diaper.
